Scope

This International Standard specifies a method for determining the water absorption capacity of glued paper and board, including corrugated board, under standard conditions. It may not be suitable for paper weighing less than 50 g/m2 or embossed paper. It is not applicable to porous papers such as newsprint, nor to unsized papers such as blotting paper or other papers with a relatively high water absorption capacity, is 8787 being better suited in these cases.This method is not intended for the precis assessment of the paper's suitability for writing, although it gives a general indication
