Scope

This standard specifies the pollutant control items of sewage from medical institutions, waste gas produced by sewage treatment stations, and sludge, as well as their discharge and control limits, treatment process and disinfection requirements, sampling and monitoring, and the implementation and supervision of standards. This standard applies to the control of medical institution sewage and sludge and waste gas discharge from sewage treatment stations, environmental impact assessment of medical institution construction projects, design of environmental protection facilities, completion acceptance and emission management after acceptance. When sewage from office areas and non-medical living areas of medical institutions is collected together with sewage from wards, the comprehensive sewage discharge shall comply with this standard. For medical institutions with separate sewage collection systems, the relevant regulations of GB 8978 shall be followed for the sewage discharge in the living areas of non-infected areas.
