- This standard is formulated in order to standardize the direct corrosion evaluation method for above-ground steel storage tanks, implement scientific management, and ensure the safe operation of storage tanks. This standard is applicable to the direct evaluation of corrosion of the inner and outer walls of above-ground oil and water storage tanks. Underground storage tanks can be implemented by reference. This standard does not exclude the use of other methods, but the limitations of the method used should be considered when using them. In addition to complying with this standard, the direct evaluation of storage tank corrosion should also comply with the provisions of the current relevant national standards.
