ASHRAE Standard 35 provides a method of testing desiccants for use in refrigerant drying. First published in 1976, Standard 35 was reaffirmed in 1983 and revised in 1992. This proposed revision of the 1992 standard eliminates the cumbersome phosphoric anhydride drying train method of testing in favor of a commonly used laboratory instrument known as the Karl Fischer coulometer, thereby simplifying the test while employing an approach that gives more accurate results. In addition, various editorial revisions have been made for clarity and the references have been updated.
