This Standard deals with cables insulated with a synthetic thermoplastic material, such as polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene, intended for a rated voltage exceeding 1000 volts between phases, but not exceeding 10000 volts. These cables are intended to be installed underground, in buildings or in the open.
