1.1 This standard covers definitions, classes of ball
screws, recommended combinations of screw diameters
and leads, recommended drawing format, and performance
characteristics of ball screw and nut assemblies
as applied to machine tools.
1.2 The values stated in U.S. customary units are to
be regarded as the standard. Metric values are converted
from the customary values per recommendations
of “ASME Guide SI-I, ASME Orientation and
Guide for Use of SI (Metric) Units”.
