This standard defines the performance requirements for an ESD control program for electrical and electronic parts, assemblies, and equipment, susceptible to damage from ESD. Electrically initiated explosive devices andpart level design are excluded from these requirements. This standard covers identification, testing, classification, assembly and equipment design criteria, protected areas, handling procedures, training, marking of hardware, protective covering and packaging, and provides for quality assurance requirements, audits and reviews.
