This detonation process for applying tungsten carbidecobalt coating provides a hard, wear-resistant surface on metal parts which do not operate at temperatures higher than 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit(OF) C538 degrees Celsius(5380C)l. The coating is not recommended for surfaces with deep v-shaped grooves, blind cavities, narrow holes, sharp corners, or where deformation of the base metal is expected.
