This standard refers to the installation of asbestos-cement pipes for use with or without pressure. It will be applied to the most common mounting conditions in practice. In cases of special or exceptional conditions, it is up to the author of the project or the construction management to issue the appropriate instructions complementary to this standard. It is also related to the UNE 88-203 standard for pressure pipes, to the UNE 88-201 standard for sanitation pipes and also to the UNE 88-211 standard and the UNE 88-213 standard. This standard does not contemplate problems that concern the owner or occupant of the land on which the pipeline is to be installed. Official regulations and practical standards relating to these aspects must be observed before and during installation or maintenance work. The use of excavation methods that require special techniques is not contemplated by this standard.
