Scope

This standard describes (chapters 2 and 3) the International System of Units, and recommends for general use (chapters 4, 5 and annex A) certain decimal multiples and submultiples of SI units, including, in addition, other units that may be used with the International System of Units. Definitions of SI basic and supplementary units are also given (Annex B).
