The purpose of this standard is to define the conditions that the different parts that make up the conveyor belts must have and to establish the minimum characteristics that the materials used in their construction must have. The characteristics of the various elements that are part of the conveyor belts refer to belts for the transport of materials that do not cause swelling of the rubber (oils or greases) or corrosive action (strong acids) and working in a normal environment at a temperature not above 50° C. Therefore, all types of bands for special services are excluded from this standard.
