The purpose of this standard is to describe a method for preparing printed samples, as a prior step to carrying out optical tests, such as colorimetric tests, optical density and whiteness tests. It also indicates how to mark these samples. The samples prepared in this way, which are known as pattern printed samples, are used to carry out optical tests regarding the printing inks, the supporting papers or cardboards or the ink-support assembly.
