The purpose of this standard is to describe the test methods for determining the glue content in packaging paper. The glue content of a paper is related to its property of allowing water to pass through more or less. Depending on the applications for which the packaging paper is intended, for example, if it is to be used to wrap food, it may be interesting to know what substances have entered the sizing: resins, animal glue, casein, starch, etc. It is also important from the packaging point of view to determine the degree of resistance of the gluing, which indicates the resistance that the paper offers to being allowed to pass through by water.
