The purpose of this standard is to describe a procedure for determining the artificial aging of rubber in oxygen bottles. The variation of the rubber due to artificial aging is expressed by comparing the tensile strength and elongations at break, according to the UNE 53 510 standard, before and after artificial aging. This artificial aging makes possible the comparative judgment of different articles of the same nature and the same applications, and a precise relationship cannot be established between the resistance of the article to aging in an oxygen bottle and the duration of said article exposed to oxygen in normal use conditions.
