The purpose of this standard is to indicate the method to be used to determine the crude fat or ether extract in compound feed, obtained by treating the sample with ethyl ether, under the conditions described in the method. It includes, in addition to fat, many other substances soluble in ethyl ether such as: waxes, sterols, organic acids, vitamins, pigments, phospholipids, etc.
