The purpose of this standard is to establish a general method for the determination of crystallization points between approximately —50 and + 250 °C. The crystallization point can be determined either directly on the sample as it is presented, or on the dried sample, or on both. The specific test method for a given product will indicate how the sample is to be studied, and, if the determination is to be made on the dried sample, the drying method to be used.
