The purpose of this standard is to establish the test conditions to assess the fastness of dyes in textiles of any nature and in all their states of transformation to the action of dry heat, as used in industrial processes intended for give textiles dimensional and shape stability. This standard applies mainly to synthetic fibers and textiles containing synthetic fibers. Three tests are planned that only differ in temperature; One or more of these tests can be used as the demands and stability of the fibers allow. This test is not applicable to determine dye degradation that may occur during finishing treatments with synthetic resins, or during the course of dyeing operations.
