This international standard specifies the control and test methods for self-locking nuts, metric MJ thread, used in aerospace constructions at maximum use temperatures lower than or equal to 425 °C. It also describes the test device and operating procedure for each control or assay. This International Standard should be used in relation to the corresponding supply specification.1) It is applicable to self-locking nuts that meet the above definition, provided that the documents affecting them (dimensional standard, definition document, special -supply classification, etc.) refer to them.
