Scope

This part of the standard is derived from ISO 7574/4, and gives guidelines for determining the established value, Lc, by the supplier, and specifies a simplified method of verifying the conformity of the acoustic emissions of a batch of machines or equipment with their respective labeled value Lc. This method can be used when a specific labeling code is not yet available (according to chapter 6 of ISO 7574/4 for the given family of machines, which fixes the reference standard deviation, the size of the sample and the sampling procedure. If a specific labeling code exists, this must be used and, in this case, reference will not be made to this part of ISO 7574. This part of ISO 7574 must, preferably, apply only by agreement reached, for example in the branch or industrial sector considered, or in a contract. This part of the standard does not contemplate the consequences derived in the event that the established value is not confirmed as verified for a batch of. machines.
