This standard describes the procedure that must be followed to determine the fixed matter and the volatile matter of paints and adhesives used as waterproofing materials in construction. The determination of the fixed matter of a product (and, consequently, its volatile matter content) depends on the test time and temperature. The usual test conditions are 3 h at 105 ± 2 °C but other conditions may be established depending on the nature of the product to be tested. In any case, when expressing the results, the time and temperature of the test must be specified. Sampling will be carried out in accordance with the UNE 104-281/5-1 standard.
