1.1 This standard specifies grade, sizes, mass and tolerances, requirements, marking and labelling, sampling and criteria for conformity and testing for steel bars for reinforced concrete : rerolled round bars, hereinafter re-ferred to as "rerolled round bars".
1.2 Rerolled round bars shall be manufactured by hot rerolling of steel scraps coming about in the course of production and handling of steel materials (cobble plates), and of steel sheet piles, ship plates or sections.
1.3 This standard covers rerolled steel bars of circular cross-section and a length of 3.40 m and greater which may be used as reinforcement in concrete for general construction purposes; it does not cover steel bars of circular cross-section, the standards for which are separately established.
