1.1 This standard specifies code of symbols, sizes and tolerances, manufacture, requirements, packing, marking and labelling, sampling and criteria for conformity, and testing for covered electrodes for arc welding of mild steel and low alloy steel, which shall be hereinafter referred to as "electrodes".
1.2 This standard covers only electrodes of 2 to 10 mm diameter depositing weld metal having a tensile strength of not more than 650 MPa.
