This specification applies to lead-covered, paper-insulated cables, designed for rated voltages of more than 600 volts and intended for use especially in low-frequency A. C. systems.
Primarily, this specification is intended to apply to solid-type and oil-filled cables. Gas-filled cables, pipe-line cables and other cables of special design should be subject to special agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser. In such cases, however, this specification may serve as guidance.
