The Project 25 standard defines and describes the support of a trunking mode of operation,
as a standard option. System and equipment requirements for interoperability, migration,
and compatibility are described in the families of Project 25 standards and bulletins.
The purpose of this revision TIA-102.AABA-A is to (1) update information contained in
TSB-102.AABA “Project 25 Trunking Overview” and (2) to incorporate provisions for
Project 25 Phase 2 operation. This revision also transfers information pertaining to security
services into the relevant security services documentation suite.
The relevant security services standard documents define protection of a Phase 1 and Phase
2 trunked systems. The relevant data services standard documents define data services on a
Phase 1 and Phase 2 trunked systems.
