Scope
The scope of this standard is the domain of Defibrillator Devices, which is a subset of the general group ofVital Signs Medical Devices. It specifically addresses:• The Object Oriented Design and Analysis of the virtual Defibrillator Device.• The Data Model of the information transferred to and from the Defibrillator Device.• The Systems Management Model that governs the flow of information.• The Communications Model used to transport the Defibrillator Device information.• The Profile Model that governs the selected specification options available within the variouscommunication standards.The Data Model in turn is based on the IEEE P1073.1.x Medical Device Data Language (MDDL) series ofstandards that defines the semantics and syntax of the information exchanged. The Profile Model is based onthe IEEE P1073.2.x Medical Device Application Profiles (MDAP) series that defines the various optionsavailable within the IEEE 1073 family of standards.
