predictive capability combined with close control
over distortion and growth is essential.
ASM Handbook Volume 4, ref 1, defines distortion
as “An irreversible and usually unpredictable
change of size and shape”.
This paper seeks to show that there is predictability
and change of shape is not always irreversible.
