JIS K 6256-2:2006 Rubber, vulcanized or thermoplastic -- Determination of adhesion test -- Part 2: Adhesion to a rigid substrate -- 90 degree SIGN peel method
This standard specifies the method for determining the peel strength of vulcanized rubber and thermoplastic rubber using a test piece with a rubber piece glued to a rigid plate. A 90° peel test between a rigid plate and vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber uses a test piece in which the sample rubber is vulcanized or bonded with an adhesive to one rigid plate, and is peeled in the 90° direction and then peeled from the rigid plate. This is done to determine the peel strength with vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber. For example, it is mainly applied to tests performed using test pieces prepared under specified conditions in a laboratory to obtain data for the selection and development of rubber compounds and adhesive systems, or data for manufacturing process control.
