- This standard specifies the constant method and semi-micro method for the determination of nitrogen content in natural raw rubber and natural rubber latex by the improved Kjeldahl method. This standard applies to the determination of the nitrogen content of natural raw rubber and natural rubber latex. Note: The determination of nitrogen content in natural rubber is to estimate the protein content in rubber. However, there are also a small amount of non-protein nitrogenous components in natural rubber, and these non-protein nitrogenous components account for a considerable proportion in the total nitrogen content of dry solids obtained from natural rubber latex.
