Scope
AIM 1. The aim of this agreement is to enhance the effectiveness of NATO forces when conducting joint diving operations@ through the adoption of a uniform and safe level of cleanliness in systems using pure oxygen or oxygen-rich gas. 2. Specific aims are: a. To specify cleaning methods for diving systems using pure oxygen or oxygen-rich gas. b. To specify safe levels of cleanliness for diving systems using pure oxygen or oxygen-rich gas. c. To specify a technique for validation of oxygen cleanliness. d. To facilitate rationalization of supply arrangements through the specification of standard oxygen cleaning systems@ whose effectiveness is known and agreed. e. To specify standards of handling and packaging@ which ensure maintenance of cleanliness standards of cleaned equipment. f. To allow the exchange of diving apparatus between members nations. g. To allow diving teams to clean apparatus to a uniform level when hosted by any member nation.
