Introduction

1. Background and purpose of the standard

GB/T 26991-2023 "Test Method for Power Performance of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles" is the first systematic specification of the power performance of fuel cell electric vehicles in my country, replacing the original GB/T26991-2011 standard. The new standard adds definitions of terms such as hybrid mode and REESS mode, and expands the test content, including the determination methods of key indicators such as maximum vehicle speed, acceleration ability, and climbing ability.

2. Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard version Scope of application New content Main changes
GB/T 26991—2011 M and N fuel cell electric vehicles No hybrid mode involved Only covers maximum speed test
GB/T 26991—2023 M and N fuel cell electric vehicles, extended to other types Added hybrid mode and REESS mode definitions Add test items such as acceleration ability and climbing ability

3. Interpretation of the main contents of the standard

3.1 Test conditions

The standard puts forward strict requirements on the test environment, including:

  • Atmospheric temperature range: 0°C to 40°C
  • Atmospheric pressure range: 91kPa to 104kPa
  • Air density change does not exceed 7.5% of the standard value
  • Wind speed limit: average wind speed does not exceed 3m/s, gusts do not exceed 5m/s
  • Relative humidity requirement: less than 95%, avoid testing in rainy and foggy days

3.2 Test equipment specifications

Table 1 lists the measurement parameters, units and accuracy requirements in detail to ensure the reliability of the test data:

Measurement parameters Unit Accuracy Resolution
Time s ±0.1 0.1
Length m ±0.1% 1

3.3 Test method

The standard specifies a variety of test items, including:

  • Maximum speed test: Calculate the maximum speed of the vehicle at stable driving through testing in both directions or in a single direction.
  • 30min maximum speed test: Verify the stability of the vehicle under continuous acceleration.
  • Acceleration capability test: Divided into two modes: starting from the spot and overtaking, to test the acceleration performance of the vehicle.

4. Implementation Suggestions

4.1 Preparation before testing

Ensure that the test vehicle meets the following conditions:

  • Hydrogen filling complies with the requirements of GB/T 37244
  • REESS power is adjusted to a reasonable range (30%~70%)
  • The load is evenly distributed and firmly fixed

4.2 Data Collection and Analysis

Use professional test equipment to record key parameters, including:

  • Vehicle speed
  • Acceleration
  • Time
  • Load distribution
