Introduction

1. Background and significance of the standard

The National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 43530-2023 "Performance Test Method of Lobster Eye Focusing Optical Components" is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Photoelectric Measurement Standardization and jointly drafted by the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other units. This standard mainly regulates the performance test method of lobster eye focusing optical components (MPO) used in space astronomy, medical imaging, customs inspection and other fields.

2. Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard dimensions GB/T 43530—2023 Comparative analysis
Scope of application X-ray focused imaging fields such as space astronomy, medical imaging, and customs inspection Added application specifications in the medical imaging field
Core parameters X-ray focal length, angular resolution, effective area, etc. Introduction of half-energy width indicators to enrich test dimensions
Test conditions Standard atmospheric conditions (temperature and humidity), vacuum environment requirements New cleanliness requirements (level 8 and above)

2.1 Practical application case: MPO test in space astronomy

In the field of space astronomy, the performance of MPO directly affects the sensitivity and resolution of the X-ray imaging system. The implementation of GB/T 43530-2023 standard can ensure that MPO components produced by different manufacturers have unified technical indicators, thereby improving the overall performance of space observation equipment.

3. Detailed explanation of standard content

3.1 Test device and principle

The MPO performance test device consists of an X-ray detector, a theodolite, a half-reflecting half-mirror and an X-ray light source. Its working principle is based on grazing incidence reflection, and the quantitative evaluation of the performance of the MPO component is achieved through the change in the shape of the converging spot.

Key parameters: X-ray source voltage ≤ 20kV, focal spot diameter ≤ 0.05mm, detector single pixel size ≥ 0.04mm.

3.2 Core test items

  • X-ray focal length: Measure the geometric distance between the parallel X-ray at the vertex of the concave surface of the MPO sphere and the converging spot. The formula is shown in standard 4.2.
  • Angular resolution: Calculated by the ratio of the minor axis and major axis of the point spread function (PSF) fitting ellipse. The formula is shown in 7.4.3.
  • Effective area: The product of the geometric area and the photon transmission efficiency. The test method is shown in 7.5.3.

4. Implementation Advice

4.1 Test Environment Control

It is recommended to conduct the test in an environment with a cleanliness level of 8 or above, using the clean room design specifications of the GB50073 standard. The equipment parameters must be calibrated before testing, and all environmental factors must be recorded.

4.2 Sample Management

The samples should be stored in a dry and clean environment, and it is recommended to be filled with protective gas (such as nitrogen). During the test, use special fixtures to handle and place with care to avoid the influence of dust and salt spray.

4.3 Data Processing and Reporting

Fill in the test report record form in strict accordance with the format of Appendix A of the standard. Pay special attention to the calculation error control of the PSF fitting parameters. It is recommended to use the least squares method to optimize the fitting accuracy.
