Scope

This document stipulates the overall principles, work procedures, work preparation, risk level classification, risk analysis and report preparation requirements for tailings pond environmental risk classification. This document applies to the environmental risk classification of in-use, out-of-use (including abandoned), and closed tailings reservoirs, except for the storage of radioactive tailings, associated radioactive tailings, and the completion of closure and deregistration work.
