GB/T 7000.223-2023 is an important part of the GB/T 7000 series of standards, mainly targeting extra-low voltage (ELV) lighting systems for extra-low voltage (ELV) light sources. This standard replaces the original GB 7000.18-2003 and comprehensively revises the technical requirements and test methods to meet the diverse needs of modern lighting systems.
Standard dimensions | Original standard (GB 7000.18-2003) | New standard (GB/T 7000.223-2023) |
---|---|---|
Scope | Applies only to extra-low voltage lighting systems, and does not cover other types of light sources. | Extended to all lighting systems using ELV light sources, including LED and recessed lamps. |
Rated voltage | Not exceeding 250V AC | Not exceeding 1000V DC or RMS not exceeding 60V AC |
Test requirements | Only short circuit test and insulation resistance test are included. | Added durability test, thermal test and protection requirements under abnormal working conditions. |
Safety isolation transformers and Converters are key components of extra-low voltage lighting systems and must comply with the requirements of IEC 61558-2-6 and IEC 61558-2-16. Their rated output voltage shall not exceed RMS 25V or ripple-free DC 60V.
Support conductors must be able to withstand a load of 5 times the weight of the lamp to ensure the safety and stability of the installation. The lamp connector should be electrically and mechanically connected by pin contact or knife contact.
It is prohibited to connect conductors in parallel in the system, and the number of components allocated by the manufacturer shall not exceed that of the components. During installation, pay attention to the spacing between the supporting conductors and ensure that their insulation measures are in place.
GB/T 7000.223-2023 Luminaires Part 2-23: Extra-low voltage (ELV) lighting systems for special requirements extra-low voltage (ELV) light sources has been changed from GB 7000.18-2003 Safety requirements for extra low voltage lighting systems for filament lamps.
