Scope
This document describes the method for determining the content of rare earth elements in bauxite by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The sample is decomposed by nitric acid, sulfuric acid, perchloric acid, and ammonium bifluoride, the melt is leached by nitric acid, and the solution is determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The specific mass number (mass-to-charge ratio, m/z) of the element is used for qualitative analysis, and the internal standard method is used. The ratio of the intensity of the mass spectrum signal of the element to be measured and the mass spectrum signal of the internal standard element is proportional to the ratio of the concentration of the element to be measured and the internal standard. The measurement range is shown in Table 1. Table 1 Element determination range Element determination range μg/g μg/g Y 0.4~600 Tb 0.02~100 La 0.5~500 Dy 0.06~100 Ce 0.9~500 Ho 0.02~100 Pr 0.1~200 Er 0.07~100 Nd 0.3~200 Tm 0.009~100 Sm 0.08~100 Yb 0.05~100 Eu 0.04~100 Lu 0.01~100 Gd 0.09~100 ---- -----
