3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Unpleasant Odour An unpleasant smell related to people's living environment, such as toilet odor, sweat odor, body odor (a mixture of 2-nonenal), and excrement odor.

3.2 Odour-Causing Microbe A category of microorganisms that grow and reproduce during the wearing process of textiles and can produce odorous volatile compounds.
Note: Volatility includes the dispersion of gases and small particles.
3.3 Resistance to Odour-Causing Microbes The ability of textiles to inhibit the growth and reproduction of odor-causing microbes on fabrics.

3.4 Control Sample Undyed 100% cotton fabric used for verifying experimental microbial growth conditions without any treatment.
