This standard identifies contractor activities for planning and implementing Human Systems Integration (HSI) on DoD system acquisition programs. This standard covers HSI processes during system design, development, test, production, employment, and disposal. This standard should be tailored based on contract phase, program type, and/or program complexity. Appendix A lists the requirements ("shall" statements) in this standard along with unique numbers to facilitate tailoring. Additionally, Appendix D provides tailoring guidance to better align the requirements in this standard with the DoD Adaptive Acquisition Framework path. The scope of this standard includes HSI activities for prime contractors and subcontractors; it does not include government HSI activities, which are covered by DoD and Service-level regulations and guidance. HSI programs should use the most recent version of the standards and manuals listed below unless a specific revision is specifically referenced in the contract.
