Scope
This standard provides a method for establishing type testing of fire resistance performance when penetrating fire barriers. This standard also considers the ability of fire barriers to withstand external forces from hose streams or water sprays. Testing conducted in accordance with this standard will establish the time rating of fire barriers. Data obtained from the performance of this standard can help determine the suitability of fire barriers for use in locations where fire protection is required.
