Scope
1.1 This standard specifies requirements and test methods for bead-applied, two-component polyurethane foam used as airtight insulation in the building and non-building sectors. This standard covers two-component polyurethane air sealing foam applied as a bead, formed in situ on site or during a prefabrication process (in a factory). The two components for the air sealing polyurethane foam are pre-packaged at the factory. 1.2 The requirements of this standard apply only to the use of two-component polyurethane foam applied as a bead in locations where the continuous service temperature is between -60 and +110°C. 1.3 The test methods used to establish material properties allow comparison of various polyurethane air sealing foams. They should be used in specifications, product evaluations and quality control systems. 1.4 Two-component bead-applied polyurethane air sealant foam must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and CAN/ULC-S711.2. 1.5 Applications and application requirements are included in the CAN/ULC-S711.2 installation standard. 1.6 This document does not address all aspects of health and safety associated with its use. Anyone using this standard has the responsibility, before using it, to consult the appropriate authorities and establish health and safety practices in addition to the applicable regulatory requirements.
