Scope
The suite of Next Generation Network (NGN) Reference Documents is intended to provide basic information regarding Next Generation Networks@ as applicable to the Next Generation Interconnection Interoperability Forum (NGIIF). The NGN is a multi-service@ multi-vendor@ multi-provider-managed packet based network. The NGN is able to provide information/communication/telecommunication services and make use of multiple broadband@ QoS-enabled transport technologies upon which service-related functions are independent from underlying transport-related technologies. Purpose The purpose of this document is to provide basic testing information and references for testing in an NGN environment. This basic knowledge can be applied when reading and utilizing the suite of NGIIF NGN Reference Documents. This document should be used as a reference when reading any of the published guidelines that are listed in the NGN Master Table of Contents@ or in Clause 7@ Abstracts of NGN Documentation.
