Water heaters with precise output temperature control under varying flow conditions are used to provide tempered water to the user. As such, they need to limit maximum water temperature at the point of use in order to reduce and control the risks of scalding. These water heaters are not intended to limit thermal shock and are not substitutes for automatic compensative valves complying with ASSE 1016 / ASME A112.1016 / CSA B125.16, Performance Requirements for Automatic Compensating Valves for Individual Showers and Tub/Shower Combinations.
