This standard describes a photometric method for the determination of traces of copper in raw rubber, latex and rubber mixtures, whether natural or synthetic. This method can be applied to rubbers containing silica, provided that hydrofluoric acid is used in the analysis procedure. The method is effective for amounts of copper less than one milligram per kilogram of sample.
