This standard specifies a method for determining the bulk bulk density and bulk core density of rigid cellular plastics, and the volumetric density of semirigid and flexible cellular plastics and rubbers. If the material to be tested includes shells formed during the manufacturing process, the overall apparent density or the apparent core density, or both, may be determined. If no crust forms on the material during the manufacturing process, the term "overall density" has no place.
