Scope
NTO itself is a chemically stable, nonflammable, nonexplosive liquid. It does not exothermically
decompose and is shock-insensitive in the absence of combustible materials or dissolved organic
contaminants. The potential for fire or explosion arises when NTO mixes with a combustible material
through handling operations, system failure, or other occurrences.
