Scope
The purpose of this work is to describe, in a convenient form, a standard Global Atmospheric Model which is
composed of a set of existing reference aerosol models. This guide contains tables, plots, and other information
describing the properties of atmospheric aerosols, both natural and man-made. These are intended for use by the
aerospace community and the emphasis is on the physical and chemical characteristics, size distributions, sources,
locations, and sinks. Somewhat less emphasis is placed upon aerosol optical properties, which are discussed in
Section 2.5.
