The standard establishes the rules for the application and quality control of machine-readable markings using a fluorescent composition, which is applied by intrusive marking directly to the surface of metal products in the form of a two-dimensional Data Matrix barcode symbol (hereinafter referred to as the Data Matrix symbol). The scope of the standard includes products from all branches of mechanical engineering, metallurgy, production of equipment and metal structures for the oil refining, energy, chemical industries, as well as other industries producing products from metals and alloys. This standard applies to markings applied to the surface of metal products using intrusive methods of needle-impact marking and laser engraving by impact deformation, burning, evaporation of the product surface material
