To promote rural domestic sewage treatment in Gansu Province and improve the rural ecological environment, based on the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting Rural Domestic Sewage Treatment" (issued jointly by nine departments including the Central Committee for Comprehensive Deepening Reform, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Science and Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission), "Action Plan for Gansu Province's Rural Domestic Sewage Treatment," "Implementation Plan for Gansu Province's Three-Year Campaign to Improve the Rural Human Settlement Environment," and "Standards for Water Pollutant Emissions from Rural Domestic Wastewater Treatment Facilities" (DB 62/T 4014-2019), the编制组 conducted extensive investigations and studies, summarized practical experiences meticulously, and solicited opinions widely before compiling this guide.
This guide includes eight chapters: General Provisions, Terms and Definitions, Treatment Models, Characteristics of Rural Domestic Wastewater and Construction Requirements for Facilities, Sewage Collection Systems, Technologies for Treating Rural Domestic Wastewater, Investment in Rural Domestic Wastewater Treatment Facilities, and Typical Regional Treatment Models. As technology advances and time progresses, this guide will continue to be supplemented and improved. This guide and its contents shall not be used as a basis by users to avoid or exempt their obligations and responsibilities.
This guide is released by the Gansu Environmental Science Society. It can serve as a technical guidance document for environmental administrative departments, design units, rural grassroots organizations, and operators of rural domestic wastewater treatment facilities.
