Scope
This specification establishes requirements for liquid concentrated corrosion removal compounds. The compounds covered by this specification are typically applied to aircraft exterior aluminum surfaces to remove pitting and severe surface oxidation, but use is not limited to such applications. Compounds meeting the requirements of this specification may cause hydrogen embrittlement of high-strength steels and will remove cadmium plating. Although the materials, methods, applications, and processes described or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards that may be present in such use. It is the user's responsibility to ensure familiarity with the safe and proper use of any hazardous material and to take the necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of all persons involved.
